Join us for a free showing of “I Am” at Kiggins Theatre!

For 2 days only, the award winning documentary “I AM” returns to Vancouver and it’s FREE !

Written and directed by Tom Shadyac, “I AM” will be shown at the newly restored historic Kiggins Theatre in downtown Vancouver, WA., 1011 Main St., Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The film brings an uplifting and empowering message that individuals can make a difference and we are all connected in surprising ways we never knew existed. Brought back to the big screen by Occupy Vancouver, this documentary of one man’s journey to find the truth, is being shown to bring hope and encouragement back  into our conversations as we face challenging times and help determine what we can do about it. Underscoring the point that we, as individuals can make a difference, 12 local business owners and Occupy Vancouver readily agreed to equally share the cost of bringing “I AM” to Vancouver because they were ALL motivated to have others see a film about what’s right and positive with the world.

While the film is free, organizers plan to use the event to raise awareness and funds for several local charities such as Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Carpenter, Urban Growers Market, and Must Love Dogs NW (the only TRUE no-kill shelter in PDX).  When picking up their FREE tickets at the ticket booth, attendees can bring non-perishable food, clothing or donate money and 100% of what is raised will go directly to each of the charities.

Following I AM there will be a moderated 30-45 minute discussion in the main theatre, for movie goers wanting to explore what the message of the film means to them personally or to the community. The discussion will be moderated by Paul Spindel of the non-profit Earth Wisdom Alliance.
