Habitat does more than build homes and hope. It also builds LEADERS. Crew Leader Training will provide a combination of classroom knowledge and hands-on training for volunteer leaders. You will have the unique opportunity to develop construction and leadershp skills while making a difference in your community.
What is a Crew Leader?
Crew Leaders oversee a group of four to six volunteers in completing a specific construction task either at the new construction build site, Women Build or A Brush With Kindness project. These leaders do not need to know how to build a house from foundation to completion, but they must be familiar with construction terms, be comfortable using various tools and be able to understand and follow the directions of the overall site leaders. Crew Leaders provide training and leadership for volunteers, so they should have at least basic teaching and demonstration skills. Well-trained Crew Leaders’ competence in the construction process provides a stable base to support and direct the work of others.
