Faith Build

Faith Build Spring 2017 – Spring 2018

Join us and put your faith into action for families in Clark County!

How to get involved:

Volunteer

  • Option 1
If your faith community has more than five interested participants you’ll want to reserve your own Group Build volunteer day. This means as a faith community you’re going to work on your chosen Wednesday, Friday or Saturday at McKibbin Commons (our current 10-home subdivision off Hwy. 14 & Lieser). Start by filling out the Group Build Interest Form here.

    • Special Note: The Habitat construction site is an excellent place to explore and strengthen collaborations and understanding. We encourage you to make your Group Build Day an Interfaith Build Day. Let us know how many participants you have signed up and we can extend the invitation to our other faith partners who may want to join you to fill the remaining available volunteer spots for your event.
  • Option 2
If you have an individual interest in this concept, there’s still an opportunity for you. Contact Amy Lodholz if you want to sign up to come out, amy@ehfh.org or 360-737-1759.

Give

We encourage all those motivated to serve through their faith on the Habitat for Humanity site to contribute financially to the construction costs as able.

We’ve established a collective fund for all our faith partners to pool their resources together and when you make a gift as an individual or as a faith group it is allocated to the Faith Build Fund. We aim to raise $75,000 by the spring of 2018 for one of the next homes at McKibbin Commons.

Churches in Partnership has got us started with a contribution of $25,000 in 2017!

Special thanks to East Woods Presbyterian Church, Columbia Presbyterian, St. John’s Presbyterian, Cascade Presbyterian, and First Presbyterian.

How much should my faith community contribute to the Faith Build Fund?

As one example, Group Build Business Sponsors contribute $3,500 as part of their day of service. These funds could be raised in numerous ways over several months.

Not sure where to start? Here are three ways to contribute:

  1. Hold a special collection before and/or after your Habitat build day.
  2. Sign up as a Carpenter Club monthly donor with a sustaining gift of $25 (or more) each month (withdrawn from a credit card or checking account).
  3. Conduct a special fundraising event! Habitat staff can help you promote and coordinate your activities.

Every faith community is different – and it’s important to us that we work with each of you individually to establish a healthy and long-lasting partnership for our mission. Imagine if members of the faith communities here in Clark County could come together to build a Habitat for Humanity home each year! This is our goal – we hope you can be a part of it.

Contact Development Director Amy Lodholz at 360-737-1759 X 208 or email amy@ehfh.org to set up a brief consultation where we can review plans and brainstorm ideas of how you can help together.

Faith Relations Team 2017

The Faith Relations Team is a subcommittee of the Development Committee and is led by Board Chair, Bruce Armstrong. The group is engaged in fostering relationships with church administrative staff and members. Through this Team, faith community relations with Evergreen Habitat will be reinvigorated, expanded and maintained. The Team will conduct fundraising efforts with faith groups in consultation with the Development Director. This Team also supports event planning and coordination for faith group gatherings Habitat is hosting or invited to. Members commit to one year of service and are assigned 5-6 faith groups to communicate with. To learn more about how to get involved, contact Amy Lodholz, 360-737-1759 or amy@ehfh.org.
