About Us
our mission: Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope.
our vision: a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Who We Are
We are working towards a world where everyone has a decent place to live by bringing our community together to build homes and hope.
How We Do It
Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible monetary donations and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates homes with the help of the homeowner. Habitat houses are sold to families at no-profit, and financed with an affordable mortgage. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are recycled into a revolving fund called the Fund for Humanity that helps fund future Habitat homes.
Habitat and its Affiliates
Habitat for Humanity is a worldwide, grassroots movement started in 1976. Concerned citizens from all walks of life come together as volunteers and staff to form a Habitat affiliate in their community. Fundraising, house construction, family selection and other key decisions are carried out by the local affiliates. Evergreen Habitat for Humanity started in Clark County, WA in 1991.
Habitat for Humanity International headquarters is located in Americus, Georgia. Habitat International provides information, training, support and other services to Habitat affiliates worldwide.

Equity Statement
As an organization, we spent the last few years engaged in deep foundational learnings related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice as well as the historical impacts on our present-day community and housing climate. Much of our work in this space has been dedicated to creating equity assessment tools and developing an Equity Statement. We boldly stand behind this statement and are thrilled to share it.

Standing Against Racism
Habitat for Humanity was founded on the principle of racial inclusivity. We continue in earnest towards this value, and stand in solidarity as we fight against racism and white supremacy in our local community, as well as in nations around the world.
