Opening Doors for Brighter Futures at Taste of Home
Opening Doors for Brighter Futures at Taste of Home
Our Taste of Home event was nothing short of a celebratory communal gathering to open doors for brighter futures here in Clark County. The evening brought together community leaders, residents, supporters, and local businesses that share the belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home.
The event was hosted on our 132nd Cottage Homes site, our largest project to date located in Vancouver. The site is the future home to 32 households and features shared green spaces. Attendees were greeted by local wineries and a photo booth opportunity while they toured the vision for this future community.
Josh Townsley, Evergreen Habitat’s Co-CEO, not only spoke on the roots of Habitat for Humanity, but also how the original vision continues to be a guiding star for our work today.
It is this original seedling that has blossomed and grown beyond borders, while challenging the systemic barriers for accessible affordable housing. Rather than a single moment, it has become a universal movement, inspiring all who partake.
As our organization continues to experience immense growth, so does the vision for a future where everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home. Clark County’s need reflects a greater need today to show up for our neighbors like teachers, nurses, services workers, and others, to open doors for brighter futures. It is only when we collaborate and partner together that we build thriving communities.
With the expansion of the organization’s reach and its commitment to providing affordable housing to families and individuals, the community is rallying behind this important cause to plant the seed of Habitat's legacy.
Our Taste of Home event is a reminder of the power of community coming together to create lasting change. Together, we raised $121,000 for affordable housing! Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and continues to stand with us as we support families and individuals in Clark County!
