Our Raising the Roof Breakfast Fundraising event was a monumental morning celebrating the 35th anniversary of Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and the ways we have opened doors for brighter futures.

The event began with the Emcee, Alix Zimmerman, welcoming guests to begin the program with a provided breakfast.

Susan Dingle, the Clark County Poet Laureate for Washington, followed with a poem that was greatly inspired by each staff member of Evergreen Habitat during a collaboration activity to share what home means to us. In this compilation of responses, Dingle crafted a poem that was shared with the audience. A moving moment that set the tone for what was to come.

We then welcomed Olivia Ramos, Board Member and Moderator, with Jasmine Neal, Habitat Homeowner, to the stage. Together they shared a conversation about Jasmine’s inspiring story from recovery to homeowner. Jasmine shared memories about her mother, whom she planted a memorial Maple Tree for in her garden, as well as the confidence she built to make new career moves since becoming a homeowner.

After Jasmine’s moving story, Josh Townsley and Lindsi Smith joined the stage to share more about our achievements as well as upcoming projects, including the 132nd Cottages, our largest build project to date.

Later that day, we were joined by community members for Build More 24!, our event to support Give More 24!, a local day of giving. Our construction team provided a tour of the site for supporters to see the progress so far.

It was a wonderful way to start the day with partners, community leaders, supporters, donors, and volunteers. Together, we raised $119,000 for affordable housing! Thank you to everyone who attended the events, supported us along the way, and are a part of this local movement.
