The Rice Family

Casey Rice is the single mother of three children, Elyanna, Anthony, and Annabell. After leaving a toxic relationship with her long term partner of ten years, and the father of her children, Casey enrolled herself at Clark College and graduated with an Associates Degree.

She put herself through school by working at Children’s Northwest, and has since worked her way up to Lead Preschool Teacher. While her career is fulfilling, and allows her to align her schedule with her children’s school routine, she still struggled to keep up with rising rental rates.

The family of four was previously living in a two bedroom apartment that they were quickly outgrowing. As the kids continued to grow, there wasn’t much in the way of space. “Bunk beds, shared closets, and no yard made for a frustrating weekend with three kids.” Casey says.

To the Rice Family, homeownership means financial stability, as well as a place for the children to play outside and have room to grow. The family now lives at McKibbin Commons and enjoys the space to run and play with their new neighbors.
